106cmV (42 Inch) Viera HD Compatible Plasma Television with Wall Bracket

Panasonic, the global market leader in plasma technology, recognises and responds to varying consumer needs. Standard definition plasmas are the ideal choice for those who are not tempted by BSkyB's forthcoming high definition broadcast service. Hence, the inclusion of the new PD60 models to the 2006 Viera range, incorporating Freeview tuners for additional digital

V-Real technology for visual perfection
V-Real is the collective name for Panasonic's innovative image-perfecting technologies. Producing Viera's key devices in-house, from processor to driver to panel, Panasonic proudly ensures consummate plasma performance. The V-Real processor processes the raw video signal it receives, outputting an incredibly high-quality signal recognised by the driver, the driver optimises the performance of the plasma which vividly displays the now processed video signal. The Panasonic PD60 provides clear, rich and beautiful images as a result ? characteristics that uniquely define Viera.

PanasonicPanasonic's Contrast Management System optimises the contrast by matching it to the images in each scene. Instead of losing gradation by making part of the image too bright or too dark, this new technology applies just the right amount of contrast correction for each part of the scene, without over-compensating in other areas.

Blacks are deeper and richer than ever before, due to the Real Black Creation incorporating Panasonic's innovative Real Black Drive and New Deep Filter System. The Real Black Drive suppresses unwanted greying by reducing the electrical pre-discharge to about 10 percent the level of conventional plasma televisions; whilst the new Deep Black Filter System has had its light transmittance reduced, and an original Panasonic anti-glare process applied to the filter surface to lessen external glare and reflection. The result of the Real Black Creation is exceptional, with intense blacks and high 10,000:1 contrast ratio.

Caring for the environment whilst caring for the consumer
Panasonic has effectively developed an environmentally friendly plasma panel. All major components have been re-vamped, with upgraded phosphors and panel materials, newly shaped ribs and electrodes and reduction in the level of gas used. The panel glass is an astonish 35 percen thinner than Panasonic?s previous model, whilst light transmission has been increased to create a brighter picture with less power requirement.

Convenience at your fingertips
The Viera PD60 range features an HDMI input with HDAVI-Control . The HDMI cable is a single cable carrying digital video and audio together, thus replacing a multitude of different A/V cables. The HDAVI Control allows communication of control signals when connected to a 2006 DIGA DVD recorder and the new S-HT855 home cinema system or the forthcoming SA-XR AV receiver. You can turn on the power for this entire home cinema set up with a single remote control button, and begin playback immediately through the home cinema speakers whilst muting the sound through the television. HDAVI control also ensures that the correct HDMI is selected when you playback a DVD therefore utilising the ultimate picture quality that the digital link can offer. This highly convenient feature is an industry first, courtesy of Panasonic.
